How Chatbase migrated from Rewardful and increased affiliate revenue by 318%

We sat down with Chatbase's founder Yasser to discuss their journey and how Dub played a role in helping them get there.

Chatbase, like many other SaaS companies, started their affiliate program on Rewardful. However, as they grew their program, they started running into scaling and operational challenges, such as:

1. Manual payouts: Every month, the Chatbase team would spend 40+ hours manually processing payouts and troubleshooting PayPal failures.
2. Limited white-labeling: It wasn’t possible to offer a seamless, in-app referral experience – existing users had to create a separate Rewardful account to get a referral link.
3. Inflexible reward criteria: It wasn't possible to set a custom reward criteria/amount by product type on Rewardful, which proved challenging for Chatbase's GTM strategy.

This allowed them to seamlessly onboard their users to their referral program, without them needing to leave the Chatbase app and sign up on a third-party platform.

Ensuring program integrity with Fraud Detection

As Chatbase's program scaled to 7K+ partners, it was critical to ensure that partners were driving genuine traffic to their product.

To do that, they leveraged Dub's Fraud Detection feature to identify:

• Paid traffic – to catch cases where partners were running paid Google ads that competed with brand keywords.
• Self-referrals – to prevent partners from referring themselves or creating fake accounts

Staggered reward durations for Chatbase's Experts program

For the launch of Chatbase's Experts Program, Yasser wanted to offer an introductory bonus:

• 50% rev-share for the first 3 months
• 30% rev-share after that
